OnStar vs insurance roadside service?

Right now I'm weighing whether to stick with my insurance company's roadside plan or switch to OnStar for my Silverado. Generally I just want decent flat tire and tow coverage. That's it. Has anyone here tried both and noticed a difference in response time or service? TIA.

I've used both onstar, my friend has used insurance roadside and dare I tell you, onstar was quicker in my case, especially for dispatching a tow. Insurance roadside was slower and less reliable, so I say team onstar but I want to hear from others too

@pensioneer I've had the opposite happen. For me my insurance roadside had someone out in under 30 minutes, but OnStar once took over an hour. I think it really depends on where you break down and who they contract locally.
