So, my buddy's got this Chevy Silverado, and he's obsessed with getting rid of that wheel gap. He's seriously thinking about trying to fit 35" tires on his stock height, stock 18s.

Now, he's not worried about trimming at all, and he definitely doesn't want any sag or a lift. His thinking is, if some folks can squeeze 26x10s on there, then 35s should theoretically work, right?

What do you guys think? Has anyone actually tried this or seen it done without a lift? He's pretty set on making it happen if it's remotely possible. Let me know your thoughts!

It's doable with aggressive trimming and maybe a little heat gun finesse, but it'll rub like crazy at full lock or over bumps. Tell him to expect some plastic surgery on those inner fenders.

You're right. On a stock Silverado, 35s will probably rub without a lift, particularly when you turn the wheel all the way or hit a bump. Trimming can help, but it'll still be a tight fit.
