VIN question

I found a great deal on a Silverado 2018 and is in my pricerange. the only problem is that the listing has no information apart from the VIN. Any chance I can get some usale information from it, like engine, trim level etc? Thanks

Yeah, you can pull a lot of info from the VIN. The 10th digit tells you the model year — for a 2018 Silverado, it should be a "J". The 8th digit reveals the engine code, so you can tell if it's a 5.3L V8, 6.2L, or whatever. The 4th to 8th digits also identify the trim and body style, though that's trickier without a decoder. There are sites like vindecoderz.com or nhtsa.gov where you can plug it in and get a full breakdown. Should give you engine, trim, factory options, even build location. Handy trick if you're buying used.
