So sometime last month, I had to use a directional tire as a temporary spare, but it ran the wrong way for about 50 miles, it was just a short rescue trip but I gotta ask, is ythereany reason to worry?

Nah, it's no biggie for 50 miles. As long as the tire wasn't overloaded or driven hard, it won't hurt anything long-term. Make sure you get it mounted right if you plan to keep using it tho. :) GL.

You might want to inspect it to see if those 50 miles did some damage, but unless you drove on a track, it's probably fine. You plan to use it as a long term spare or it was a onetime thing?

Yep, totally fine for a short stretch like that. Going the wrong way for 50 miles shouldn't cause any real damage, especially at normal speeds.

I just want to build up on what the other guys are saying.
Running a directional tire the wrong way for 50 miles isn't going to cause any long-term issues or damage.
The main concern with directional tires is their performance in wet conditions since they're designed to channel water a specific way, and sometimes noise.
On a dry road for a short distance, I think you wouldn't even notice!
Just get your proper tire back on there when you can and don't sweat it!

yeah your tire might wear a bit unevenly or have slightly reduced grip, but its unlikely to cause serious damage. Just swap it back to the correct rotation direction as soon as you can and keep an eye on how it performs.
