I replaced the rotor and pads on my Chevy Silverado Z71 a few days ago. It was just normal brake maintenance. But then, some codes started to appear on my dashboard. There are also messages like "Service Trailer Brake system," "Service ESC," "Service Brake assist," and "Brake system failure," and even warnings like "43 MPH top speed."

Not only that, but the brake also feels so heavy when I hit it. I went to a master mechanic, who checked all the system's mechanical parts, and all are new. He tried to clear the code using three scanners, but still couldn't fix it.

I'll go to the dealer in a few days, but I'm open to any advice, or maybe insight from everyone here.

This happened to me once. There are so many different brake pads and rotors for these trucks that I wanted to make sure I got the right ones. This issue happens when you compress the piston, according to what I read. It eventually cleared itself after I drove around, turning it off and on, driving cautiously because the hydraulic assist is disabled.

Thanks for this! Will try this one and update you if it works for me as well..

maybe something electronic got knocked loose, probably a wheel speed sensor didn't get seated right or got damaged during the swap, that's something with these newer systems are touchy, and when one thing throws off the readings, everything starts lighting up. Hope the dealer finds it fast… it's hard feeling like you did everything right and still ended up stuck.
