Problem with the brakes

yesterday i noticed a problem where my truck began to slow down without me lifin off or hitting the brakes and i had to give it some more gas and pull over to see whats the problem. I noticed some heat from the wheels so i figure its a problem with the brakes and i'm looking for someone to give me an explanation?

That's freaky! Your truck slowing down on its own like that?? Sounds like your brakes might be dragging, sticking on even when you're not hitting the pedal. That heat from the wheels? Yeah thats a big clue they are overheating from rubbing too much. Could be a stuck caliper or something jacked up in the brake system. I'd get it checked quick before it messes up your ride or your day.
 
Your brakes might be dragging, causing heat buildup and slowing the truck even without braking.. I guess this could be due to stuck calipers, a seized brake hose or parking brake issues. Dont go too far wihtout having it checked for real, too dangerous
 
Both members are right and explained well, but forgot to ask one important thing. Did you notice heat from just one wheel or more? If it's only one wheel, with the brakes being the obvious problem, you might be looking at a bad bearing, especially if you ignored all the previous sighs and let it reach this point.
 
From what you're describing though, it sounds like the master cylinder might be faulty. Loosening those 2 bolts that hold it to the booster lets the pedal rod release, which points to an issue there. Sometimes its just dirt causing problems, but since master cylinders are pretty cheap, it's usually easier to just replace it and see.

No hate from me and hope you don't take this the wrong way, but why are people always recommending replacing something? It's cheap so let's replace it. Why would someone replace a perfectly working part? I've had similar recommendations which I followed which turned out to be crap, so I ended up replacing part I shouldn't have for a problem that wasn't solved.
